What I'm About by Samuel Oliver Slinger

Many people see it as sacrilege to even bend the pages of a book back. These people would not like to watch what I do to some books. I see my artistic process as a form of recycling. By collecting second-hand or 'fallen' books and magazines, and carefully extracting particular elements within their pages, I breathe new life into their content and give it new meaning. I see this attitude and outlook towards printed material as all the more important and urgent as more books and magazine are 'falling'. E-readers are replacing traditionally published content, and at some point in the future, there may not even be printed content as we know it now. Snip snip.
